The real question here is not what makeup will you wear, but what can your makeup do for you? In workout environment it is essential that your appearance reflects efforts to look fresh and ready for results. And if you play your cards right, choosing the right type of makeup routine will help you look more serious and professional (which will additionally boost up your self confidence). Therefore we gathered some makeup tips that can easily help you out:
Face
Needless to say, the more natural you look, the better. Office makeup is all about enhancing your natural features. Are you thinking fuchsia blush? Bad idea. Go for gentle tones and ease down on a concealer. Office lighting tends to be really bad, therefore pick a neutral bronzer so you complexion would look healthy (and not burned out). Bronzer can also be a great solution instead of blush and you can even add highlighter if you want to emphasize your cheekbones. Also, keep in mind not to experiment with your makeup over the workdays.
Eyes
In the morning before you put on your office makeup, you should decide weather you would like to emphasize your eyes or your lips. If you decide to go for the eyes, do not use thick black eyeliner – liner is good only if the line is thin. Avoid smoky eyes, cat eyes style and dark lids in general as this is the makeup style for a night out, not an office makeup. Try using peach pencil and soft beige, very light gray or blush pink shadow on the lid – this will flatter most skin tones and it will open up your eye. Also, be easy on the mascara, and put no more than two coats. And as one would expect, fake eyelashes are a definite no-no.
Lips
If you decide to emphasize your lips, there are some tips how to do it right. No orange lipstick. No. It’s not a disco, it’s a working environment. And no glitter please! In fact, lip-gloss usually makes you look greasy, so try using hydrating peach lipstick instead. The good news is yes, you can wear red lipstick (even as your signature look) and with the right tone, you may even look more professional. Go for brick, berry and tomato red, along with some pinkish tones.
Nail
It seem very obvious, but people tend to forget how important is to keep your hands clean. Your nails should be manicured and neat (and try not to let them grow too long). If you’re thinking about the color, French manicure is usually the best solution for your nails, along with light pink, soft pastels and neutrals. Reddish and dark pink colors are good, but green, yellow and blue will just make you look silly. Of course, no glitter and no prints, but if you are really desperate to spice your nails up, don’t go with more than one feature at the time.
All in all, once you got the hang of it, you shouldn’t spend more than 10 minutes on your morning makeup routine and use more than 5 to 6 products. Also remember to spray your perfume carefully and chose some light scents, as your superiors and you may have different taste in fragrances.
